Men

This ministry is designed to help men fulfill the will of God in their lives. In an age of challenge and turmoil, it is important that men strive to stay focused on Jesus Christ, to provide strong moral leadership for our families, to be good husbands and fathers and encourage each other in our efforts to be Christ-like. Our mission statement is Proverbs 27:17 “as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

Our men meet on some Saturday mornings for breakfast and fellowship. Occasionally, a speaker will present a topic relevant to the issues facing men or one of our men will share their testimony on their journey to accept Christ as savior. Once a year the men cook a special breakfast for the woman of the church at the beginning of May as a Mother’s Day celebration.

We offer some great opportunities for personal growth with our Men’s Fraternity program. There are three years of curriculum with Men’s Fraternity. The first year is a 24-week course called The Quest for Authentic Manhood. The second year is a 16-week course called Winning at Work and at Home, and the third year curriculum is called The Great Adventure. This is a program that helps us to grow into the leader and authentic man that God wants us to be.

We also have a group called the Masters Craftsman. This group was formed for the men who have completed Men’s Fraternity as a next step into their great adventure. Our men gather together to help elderly homeowners or needy families in our church and community to assist them with necessary fix up projects around their homes. This year we did a home makeover for a young family of seven in our congregation. These are great opportunities to meet the men of the church and create lifelong friendships with brothers in Christ while fulfilling the great commission at the same time. Seeing the joy in the hearts of the people we help is a huge blessing that you do not want to miss out on.

We live in the community of Chittenango, NY which is the birthplace of the “Wizard of Oz.” Every Year the community celebrates the movie with the “OZ-stravaganza” and as a church we conduct a golf tournament called the “Emerald City Classic”. This is another great opportunity to work together as a team and have a fun day. We use this as a community outreach program for the church.

Everyone is welcome to participate in any or all of the activities offered above. Please feel free to join our men’s group and be blessed!
